They say dogs are social creatures, but some truly amaze me with their social skills. Not only do they enjoy making friends, but some even take matters into their own paws to keep their social life active.

Then meet Mako, a dog from South Carolina who’s become an internet sensation thanks to his incredible social smarts.
Every day, Mako appears at his neighbors’ doorstep as a confident and friendly pup with one simple wish: to hang out with their dog. A video captured by the neighbor’s porch camera quickly won everyone’s hearts!
Mako Waits Patiently For Leonard’s Permission To Play
When Mako first showed up, Erica and Jason, Leonard’s owners and Mako’s neighbors, were stunned. Could this dog really be asking for permission to play with his friend? It was absolutely adorable!
After that, it quickly became routine. Mako would regularly arrive, waiting for the neighbors to check the ring camera, which took only a few seconds. As soon as the door opened, Mako and Leonard would sprint off into the neighborhood to play.
“Mako and Leonard are best friends,” the Ring’s post reads.
“Everyday after the humans finish work, Mako comes to our door to ask if Leonard can come out to play,” Erica elaborated in the post.
One afternoon was no different. Mako’s owners had just arrived home from work, which meant it was time for him to visit Leonard.
The dog slowly walked toward the door, waiting for Leonard to appear. But after several minutes, nothing happened. The camera caught Mako bowing his head sadly before turning to leave.
Then, he heard a familiar sound: Jason letting Leonard out! Within seconds, Mako’s tail wagged furiously. He barely contained his excitement. It was a moment of pure happiness.
In the video’s final moments, the ring camera shows Mako and Leonard finally reuniting. After a brief sniff, as if to say, “Hey, I didn’t see you for hours!,” the two raced off as though trying to escape from everyone.
Their enthusiasm left no doubt they had plenty to catch up on! And really, can you blame them?
Ring’s video quickly won the hearts of hundreds of fans nationwide.
It was wonderful to see Mako share such a special friendship with his neighbors and their dog. While Mako is usually a social butterfly, he clearly favors Erica and Jason for their kindness. That kind of gift can’t be bought.
