Pit Bulls are often misunderstood and unfairly seen as dangerous. In truth, when treated well, they are loving, loyal, and make wonderful companions.
Take Stella, for example. This Pittie girl from Texas was abandoned in a trash pit by her previous family, yet all she wanted was to give and receive love.
Her touching reaction when she met her rescuer is one that would move anyone.
Discovered In Desperate Shape
Stella’s life had been far from easy. When Harry, a Texas content creator behind the account Pigeon Vizion, found her, she seemed completely defeated.
Harry first spotted her running in a parking lot and decided to check on her.
“We were driving by this abandoned building in Dallas, Texas, and I see a dog just running in the parking lot. I jumped over the fence to investigate more, she got pretty scared of me and she ran to this corner,” Harry told GeoBeats Animals.
Stella, who had never known proper care or kindness, was terrified. In the Instagram video, she can be seen running to the corner of the pit and trying to hide, as though she had given up on people entirely.
“She was in really bad shape. She literally was so defeated, like she had no fight left under her. She was just exhausted and tired and, like, this is it,” Harry added.
Not wanting to waste a moment, Harry scooped her up and carried her to his car despite her fear. The first stop was a veterinary clinic.
There, they were surprised to find she was generally healthy and only had fleas. But when Harry brought her home, he saw she couldn’t move properly or even relieve herself.
He took her to an emergency hospital, where X-rays revealed a broken pelvis.
From Forsaken Pup To Cherished Companion
They say it takes a community to raise a child, and in this case, it took a community to help Stella.
Thanks to Harry and a supportive network of helpers, she recovered well from her pelvis surgery. Soon, Stella was like a different dog, seeking affection and cuddles constantly.
This growing bond convinced Harry to give her a permanent home. When attempts to contact her previous family after her microchip scan failed, he decided to adopt her himself.
“At first I was thinking about fostering her and trying to give her off to a better family, and then the more I kept her, the more I realized I don’t think I can give her away at this point,” Harry concluded.
Now, Stella will never have to face abandonment again. Thanks to Harry, her life will be filled with love, comfort, and endless companionship.
