Sweet Mama Dog Was Heartbroken After Being Overlooked In Florida Shelter Even Though Her Puppies Were Adopted

Karishma’s life had been a battle. The resilient mama dog wandered Georgia’s streets with her five puppies, using all her strength to keep them alive.

She worried her little ones had to face the bitter cold. The devoted mother did all she could to keep them warm and tend to them the best way she knew how.

One day, Karishma approached a nearby house and pleaded with humans for assistance, a choice that became a turning point.

The brave mom and her babies were soon taken in by a shelter.

Because the shelter was overcrowded, staff placed the family at a veterinarian’s office.

They contacted Nate’s Honor Animal Rescue, based in Bradenton, Florida, and asked if they could help.

A Sweet Life In A Foster Home

Nate’s Honor Animal Rescue accepted the family into their program and placed them in a loving foster home.

Karishma was grateful because she and her pups were finally safe and warm. She nursed them faithfully and poured endless love into their days.

Thanks to her exceptional devotion and care, the puppies blossomed and grew into sturdy, healthy youngsters.

When they reached the right age for adoption, all the puppies found homes, while Karishma remained in foster care a little longer.

The gentle dog thrived with her foster family and bonded with her resident canine sibling. She felt relaxed, secure, and content.

However, things changed when the foster family agreed to take in another mother dog with puppies, and Karishma needed to return to the shelter.

The team hoped the two-year-old sweetheart would quickly find a forever family, but for Karishma, the move back into a shelter setting was hard.

When the loving dog found herself behind kennel bars without her babies, she became anxious and downhearted.

Behind Kennel Bars

Karishma turned timid. She refused to leave her run, eat regularly, or greet unfamiliar people.

The shelter’s Shy Dog team began working with her, encouraging her to slowly emerge from her shell.

Thankfully, the sweet girl began to open back up. She resumed eating and started going on gentle walks.

Although Karishma was warming to the staff again, it grew obvious that the shelter environment simply wasn’t a good fit for her.

Her friends at the shelter worry she may be overlooked because she acts shy around strangers.

The staff knows what a wonderful companion Karishma is and hopes someone will offer her a permanent home. She needs a kind human who will show her how beautiful life can be.

“At 2 years old, this sweet girl has so much life left to live. She just needs someone to show her the world outside of the shelter,” Nate’s Honor Animal Rescue wrote in a Facebook post.

If you’re searching for a loving four-legged friend, please consider giving Karishma the chance to win your heart. This brave mama endured hardship on the streets, and she deserves her happily ever after.
