Puppy Abandoned At California Recycling Center Begins A New Life After Kind Rescuer Steps In

When it comes to abandoned puppies, I always find myself wondering the same thing – how can someone just leave a helpless pup alone in the middle of nowhere?

What could possibly be the reasoning? Even if someone doesn’t like animals, the least they could do is drop them off at a shelter so they have a fighting chance.

Still, this kind of thing keeps happening, and there’s only so much we can do to prevent it. What we *can* do is make sure we alert rescuers anytime we spot a stray puppy in trouble.

That’s exactly what a few workers at a recycling center did when they noticed a scared puppy running around. But he was so frightened, they knew they needed expert help.

A Rescue That Took Time And Patience

After being abandoned at the recycling center in California, the terrified little pup tried to find a safe place to hide.

But the moment he saw the workers, he ran off. They tried their best to help him stay safe, but every time someone approached, he bolted.

When they got close to him, he jumped into a nearby body of water and swam until he found a small hiding spot under a bridge.

The poor pup stayed there for four days. He was too frightened to move or accept help from anyone.

The kind people trying to rescue him realized they needed a different approach. Getting close wasn’t going to work.

So they began leaving food out in hopes he would come out on his own. Maybe, if he saw they weren’t trying to hurt him, he’d start to trust them.

He’d sneak out from under the bridge and nibble at the food, but as soon as he heard a sound, he’d take off again.

He’s Finally Out Of Danger

What must have happened to this puppy to make him react like that around people? I keep thinking about it.

Once the recycling center workers saw they couldn’t get to him, they called Suzette Hall for help.

She tried to rescue him for days without success. Hall was devastated by the pup’s condition and heartbroken over how scared he was.

After several days, she went out for one more try. This time, she finally caught him using a humane trap.

All the employees were so relieved to see him finally safe. Because of everyone’s determination, the frightened little pup was out of harm’s way.

They helped Hall load him into a car, and she brought him back to her California-based shelter. The pup, now named Buddy, will receive all the love and care he needs.

We don’t yet know how Buddy’s story ends, but knowing he’s in great hands is enough for now. I’m confident that a forever home is just around the corner.
