Even so, Ben Shrack, a dog owner in Indiana, recently discovered the perfect way to put his dog’s shedding to good use. One day, on a whim, he tossed a clump of his dog’s fur off his balcony, and what happened moments later completely surprised him!
An Unexpected Sight
Ben and his Golden Retriever, Lando, love spending time together in their Indiana home. But when it comes to dealing with Lando’s constant shedding, things can get overwhelming.
Ben regularly brushes his canine companion’s thick coat, and not long ago, he found a whole new way to make brushing worthwhile.
One day, after casually throwing a tuft of Lando’s fur off the balcony, Ben noticed that his little feathered neighbors were thrilled by the offering.
Everything began when Ben shared a viral video captioned: “How the circle of life actually works,” showing birds swooping in to grab Lando’s fur straight from the air before it even touched the ground.
At first, viewers couldn’t believe what they saw in the clip, so Ben recorded a series of videos, each one capturing the same amazing sight.
“Sometimes people don’t believe how quickly these birds will show up when I throw the hair off the balcony, I’ll show you in real time,” Ben wrote in another video.
As it turned out, the birds found Lando’s discarded fur perfect for building nests, and viewers, especially fellow dog owners, found it heartwarming.
“You’re investing in someone’s homes,” one commenter wrote.
“Birds live for this! Best birds nest equipment,” another added.
“I always tell my dog when I brush her outside and her balls of hair are flying away…you’ll make some birds happy,” the third user wrote.
A Perfect Arrangement For All
Lando is truly the ideal furry friend. Beyond his sweet Golden Retriever nature, he now helps his small feathered neighbors create cozy homes, entirely unaware of how valuable his fur has become.
All he has to do to support his tiny bird friends is relax and enjoy his brushing session, and that’s all it takes. As soon as he’s finished, the birds eagerly collect the soft fur for their nests. It’s clear that everyone benefits from this arrangement!
Between these game-changing grooming sessions, Lando and Ben continue living their best life together. They enjoy walks, share snuggles on the couch, and head out on fun adventures.
