After reading through countless stories where the dogs have been dumped in horrible places, I thought that I had seen it all.
I couldn’t be more wrong. There are instances where some people are just so cruel that they leave them in places where they will surely perish if nobody helps them.
I think that the story we will reflect on today describes a situation just like that. Apparently, an owner from California abandoned his dog on the roof of a building in a shopping cart.
It’s important to note that the roof was unbarricaded, and there was a serious danger to the dog’s life. Luckily, a security guard saw her and quickly intervened.
Quick Response

After spotting the pup who was stuck on a roof, a security guard named Joey Tuccio found her and immediately called a nonprofit organization called Starts with One Today.
They responded in no time and were on the scene to help with the rescue.
Tuccio told People: “Paris was found abandoned in a shopping cart on top of a roof of a building on Skid Row a week ago. We teamed up with Wild Horizon Rescue to pay for vetting, and a friend of mine is fostering Paris now.”

What’s really heartbreaking about Paris’ story was that she had likely spent hours on that roof without any food or water. She probably lost all hope of being rescued.
Before she was taken into the foster home, Tuccio quickly took her to a veterinary clinic in California to get her checked out.
Fortunately, she was healthy, and the only problem she had was conjunctivitis, but they were not able to locate a microchip on her.
She’s Doing Much Better Now

Tuccio continued by saying: “We don’t know how she ended up on a roof. Sadly, many unhoused people on Skid Row are struggling with drug addiction, so sometimes they will leave their dogs for weeks. We often find dogs abandoned, like Paris, and find homes for them.”
During her stay at the foster home, she learned that these people truly care for her and it didn’t take her very long to relax.
Tuccio hopes that he will be able to find a proper home for Paris, but it might take a while. It’s very fortunate that they were able to secure a foster home for her.

He said: “An ideal adopter is one who doesn’t work 8 hours a day away from home, lives in Los Angeles, and is ready to spoil her rotten. She can be in a home with dogs or without dogs.”
Tuccio remains hopeful that her story will not only inspire people to give her the chance, but to also adopt other dogs who seriously need help.
This can save their lives, and it can change ours. The problem of abandoned dogs is quite big in California, and we need to do more to help them.
