When someone chooses to give up their puppies, the most common route is to surrender them to a shelter so the responsibility is passed on.
But that doesn’t always happen. Some shelters are overcrowded, and when people feel out of options or unwilling to wait, they may cruelly abandon the puppies on the street, leaving them to fend for themselves.
This story is about a group of tiny puppies who were left alone in the middle of nowhere, with no chance of survival without help.
Discovery On The Edge Of The Woods

On a scorching day, a resident of Anson County, North Carolina, noticed a green box sitting near the woods.
Curious, the man went to take a closer look and saw five tiny puppies stuck inside the box.
They had clearly been abandoned, and what made things worse was the intense heat, which meant the pups didn’t have long to survive without help.

Too small and weak to escape on their own, they were trapped. Thankfully, the man brought over a crate, gently placed the puppies inside, and gave them food and water.
After helping them regain some energy, he began looking for assistance.
The Start Of A New Journey For The Puppies

The next step was to bring them to the Rescue Dogs Rock NYC veterinary partner located in North Carolina.
Jackie O’Sullivan told The Dodo: They were weak and dehydrated and apparently had a funny smell. One was not doing well so we feared parvo, but after some fluids, baths and good nutrition, so far all five are doing OK.
At the clinic, the team found that the puppies were about 6 weeks old and named them: Sullivan, Snoopy, Sanders, Simon, and Sassafrass.
They received full medical care, including vaccinations, fluids, and deworming. After a while, their condition began to improve.

O’Sullivan said: They are lucky they were found in time.
Once they had recovered, the puppies were placed in foster homes to await adoption. Although it’s not confirmed whether they’ve all been adopted, it’s likely that loving families have stepped up and welcomed them into permanent homes.
