We have talked about the problem of abandoned and stray dogs extensively in these kinds of stories, but I feel like it’s something that is still glossed over a lot in our world.
Given how many cases arise up every year, and how much rescuers struggle to shelter all dogs, the problem hasn’t gone away. The situation has stagnated.
I mean sure, a lot of pups get saved, but many also end up on the streets where they are forced to scavenge and fend for themselves.
Such was the case for these three Chihuahua puppies who were abandoned near an office building in Texas until a kind stranger found them.
Lucky Break For The Puppies
When the kind woman first encountered these puppies next to her office, she was in complete shock. At first, they looked a bit scared and nervous.
She got a closer look at them and realized that they were actually well-fed and mostly healthy. The chihuahuas were a bit filthy and one had a red eye.
They were not strays, but were in fact abandoned. This was heartbreaking to see, but the kind woman knew that she had to help them somehow, so she tried to gain their trust.
At first, it was actually really slow, but she was eventually able to calm them down and they were beginning to get comfortable around her.
She brought them inside her office and they were really scared of noises at first, so the staff there let them roam around the office until they figured out what to do next.
Considering that all the staff had pets of their own; nobody was able to foster them for a while, so they stayed in the office yard where they were actually pretty comfortable.
They had food, water, blankets, and basically everything. The puppies were slowly getting accustomed to these kind people, and their rescuer.
They were wagging their tails and starting to get really curious about everything. Their timidness was slowly going away.
Incredible Outreach
In the meantime, their kind rescuer tried to contact several rescue organizations in Texas to see if any could shelter them for a while.
However, she had no luck, because all the places were overcrowded already, so she posted their story on Reddit where it absolutely blew up.
Many people reached out, and even one organization offered to help, but they said that they would only be able to accept them after a few days because they were really busy.
The kind woman appreciated the shelter’s willingness to help, but she realized that there were many people interested in adopting right away, so she focused on that.
Nevertheless, their kind rescuer was able to find a loving family in a short period of time for all of them. In just a few short days, all of these sweet chihuahuas were on their way to a forever home.
And just like that, their lives had changed forever. Their story illustrates perfectly how much we humans can help dogs when we all just decide to work together.
These chihuahuas went from being dumped on the street and forced to scavenge to living their best lives with people who care about them deeply, and I am so happy for them.
