I never understood the prejudice some people have about dogs, or rather about the breed. All it takes is one misinterpreted video of a provoked dog and a lot of people will believe that the breed is to blame.
This is just factually wrong. There is absolutely nothing to suggest that any breed is more aggressive than any other.
It’s all really up to the owners and how they treat their pups. Some might respond aggressively when they are provoked, while others won’t. It has nothing to do with their appearance.
The best example of this mistreatment is a pittie named Rocky, who had been in the McDonough Rescue shelter in California for a while because nobody was just interested in adopting him.
Rocky Is Just Devastated
It’s just devastating to learn that a pup as adorable as Rocky is struggling to find a forever home, but that’s the cruel reality.
One of the rescuers, Kelsey, had tried to find but it’s just not going really well. The other rescuers told her that he would soon have to be red-listed.
In other words, it meant that he would be placed on the euthanasia list if he didn’t find a new family. This was tragic news because Rocky didn’t deserve any of this.
In order to help this sorrowful pup feel a little bit better, Kelsey took him out and the two of them enjoyed just playing outside.
It was during this day that she realized just how skinny and malnourished Rocky was. Even though the shelter staff were trying their best to help him regain weight, it was a slow process.
After a while, Kelsey and the other California rescuers were able to find a foster home for him, which was a step in the right direction.
It at least meant that he had some kind of a chance. Kelsey would come visit him frequently and she noticed that his attitude was slowly changing.
Rocky Received The Best News
He was still very nervous about everything and was most definitely not used to living in a home, but he was making baby steps towards improving.
The change was becoming more noticeable after a few days and this was great news. Seeing a pup this happy can always help increase Rocky’s chances of finding a forever home.
As time went on, this sweet pittie was just enjoying himself in the foster home, and then there was a very sudden development.
Kelsey heard from Rocky’s foster mom that she had a perfect adopter for him. This was the most amazing news ever.
Rocky went to meet his new dad Liam and it was clear from the get-go that the two of them would become besties in no time.
In fact, Rocky had already found his favorite spot in the new home, so that just tells you how relaxed he already was with his new dad.
Even though the situation seemed dire at first for this beautiful dog, his rescuers persevered and tried to do their best to help, and now Rocky is rightfully living his best life.
