When Heather, a dog owner from Austin, Texas, realized her fiancé, Alex, forgot to check on her dog’s crate before leaving home, she was upset at first. While she always makes sure Ernest, their miniature Dachshund, is safe and sound, this time – Alex failed to deliver.
As a result, Heather found her dog not alone in his crate, which ultimately had her and the entire internet rolling in the aisles!
A Mistake That Made The Internet Laugh
One thing Heather doesn’t like is leaving Ernest alone. However, over time, she discovered that her mini Doxie has the ultimate way of dealing with being separated from his momma – by resting in his crate!
While putting Ernest in a crate isn’t a common practice for Heather, she realized that this strategy works effectively when she’s not home. Instead of roaming the house and looking for owners in an unsettling way, Ernest finds playing with his toys inside his crate truly comforting.
This time, however, it wasn’t just about comfort – but about company, too!
One day, Heather’s fiancé, Alex, forgot to check on Ernest in his crate, and when she returned home, she walked in on a surprising scene.
In the video the Texas woman initially recorded to send Alex, Ernest is shown inside with the family cat, Louis.
“My fiance left a little something extra in the dog’s crate this morning,” reads the video caption.
The dog and the cat were left together in a crate for five hours, all due to Alex’s honest mistake. And no, they didn’t mind at all!
While Heather was initially upset to see the two together left alone for so long, she realized that Ernest and Louis actually had a nice time together. They didn’t fight, they didn’t seem nervous or anxious, and they almost didn’t care about being locked inside.
Fortunately, both had enough water, a cozy blankie, and a bed to make their afternoon a true resting session. And, that’s exactly what they did!
The Comments Are Hilarious
After sending the video of Louis and Ernest to Alex, Heather decided to share it with her TikTok community. What she didn’t expect was for the clip to go viral in just a few days!
Before long, this hilarious mishap became a social media sensation, with hundreds of comments pouring in.
“Oooo, he looks like hes plotting his revenge too,” one commenter wrote.
