All stray dogs have their own backstories, which we may never find out.
However, whenever we meet a dog with a mysterious past, their behavior will give us clues about what they have been through and how we can help them.
Such was the case of a dog who appeared at a family’s yard in California one day out of the blue. Nobody knew anything about him except that he was terrified.
The kind-hearted family tried to help and feed him, but sadly, the dog refused to eat or drink.
He even growled at them when they tried to approach him. At that point, the family knew they needed help rescuing him.
Suzette Hall Responds To The Call For Help

The good humans contacted Suzette Hall, an experienced rescuer and the founder of Logan’s Legacy 29, a rescue in Irvine, California.
As soon as Hall heard that a stray pup needed help, she headed to the family address, determined to bring him to safety.

Once she arrived at the scene, Hall found the dog hiding under an old boat in the yard.
“Hiding under an old boat in a yard. He wouldn’t eat or drink anything. He had been there since last Thursday. He wouldn’t let anyone near him,” Hall wrote in a Facebook post.
Since the doggo was curled up right under the middle of the boat, she couldn’t reach him.

Hall was heartbroken when she saw the dog’s beautiful eyes filled with tears, and she noticed that he was trembling with fear.
Knowing that she had to be patient with him and gain his trust, the rescuer sat down and started talking to him.
The pup listened to her attentively, but he didn’t move.
Hall persisted and continued speaking to him in a soft tone.
The Dog Feels That He Can Trust His Rescuer

Fortunately, the doggo soon realized that he could trust the rescuer. He approached her, and she could finally stroke him and give him love.
Hall’s cuddles gave him comfort, and at that moment, the pup realized that she was there to help him. He sensed that everything would be alright, and he put his faith in her.
“He knew I was there to show him love and that everything was going to be okay,” Hall added.
The rescuer could tell that he was ready to come with her, so she gently placed a slip lead over his neck.
The dog was exhausted and dehydrated but was relieved to be safe.

Hall drove him to the vet, where he would get checked.
While we don’t know what happens next in his story, we’re sure that his hero will help him find his happiness. From now on, the pup will only know love and kindness.
