No pup should have to live on the streets, forced to look for scraps of food just to make it through.
Sadly, this is the reality for so many dogs.
The only hope that these pups have is that someone will show them some compassion and help them change their lives.
Today’s story is about a pup who lived on a freeway ramp for weeks. She struggled to survive day after day and hoped that someone would give her a second chance at happiness.
Saving A Pup From The Freeway
When Suzette Hall, the long-time California rescuer, heard that there was a tiny dog living near the freeway, she dashed to her rescue, terribly worried for her.
“The neighbors said she had been living on the on ramp for weeks. So dangerous and she is so tiny,” Hall wrote on Facebook.
Once she reached the scene, Hall spotted the doggo as she was getting off the freeway.
She then sought refuge under one of the parked cars.
When the rescuer looked under the car, she met the dog’s gaze, filled with sorrow, and was deeply moved.
Hall wasted no time. She immediately set a humane trap, hoping that the smell of delicious treats would lure her into the crate.
She was worried that the dog could get spooked and run to the freeway, so she hid and observed her from a distance.
“I was so worried she was going to run back to freeway. I literally just prayed, set my trap and went to hide,” Hall added.
Bringing The Tiny Dog To Safety
Fortunately, the pup didn’t take long to enter the crate. She was starving, and she rushed to get the food.
When the crate door finally closed behind the pup, Hall approached her and started speaking to her, reassuring her that she was safe.
The rescuer noticed that she was coated in oil and infested with fleas.
Tired and exhausted, the pup looked at her rescuer as she was begging her to help her.
Hall carried her to her car and placed her in the passenger’s seat. The pup seemed calm. She looked at her rescuer with eyes that melted with gratitude.
The rescuer promised her that she would never be left alone again.
The doggo felt incredibly relieved to be with her hero. She couldn’t imagine that her life was about to change completely.
Hall drove the pup to the vet, where she would get a medical checkup and the necessary treatment.
I’m sure that she will find a wonderful forever family once she feels ready to start the most important chapter of her life.
