Appreciating your dog’s fabulous coat is sure fun and awesome, but the process behind it – not so much! Grooming requires extensive dedication, especially if you’re the owner of a highly shedding breed.
And, speaking about shedding – our Golden Retriever buddies are probably at the top of the list. Sometimes, it can feel like all you do is brush your Goldie’s coat – and the job is still not done.
Be that as it may, Ben Shrack, an Indiana owner, has recently found the perfect way to make the most of his dog’s brushing. One day, he randomly decided to throw a little clump of his fur off the balcony – and what happened just seconds later left him stunned!
What Just Happened
Ben and his Golden Retriever, Lando, have a blast in their Indiana home. However, when it comes to shedding, Lando’s coat is no picnic.
Ben makes sure to brush his four-legged buddy’s coat frequently – and recently, he took the entire process to a whole new level!
One day, after he randomly threw a piece of his fur off his balcony, Ben realized his tiny feathered neighbors appreciated it so much!
Everything started when Ben posted a viral video saying: “How the circle of life actually works,” showcasing birds literally snatching Lando’s fur straight from the air, not even waiting for it to fall to the ground.
When he first recorded the video and shared it with his followers, people couldn’t quite believe it. So, he decided to record a series of videos – each time showcasing the same phenomenon.
“Sometimes people don’t believe how quickly these birds will show up when I throw the hair off the balcony, I’ll show you in real time,” Ben wrote in another video.
As it turned out, the birds found Lando’s fur to be ideal nesting material, and the viewers, especially dog owners, found it adorable.
“You’re investing in someone’s homes,” one commenter wrote.
“Birds live for this! Best birds nest equipment,” another added.
“I always tell my dog when I brush her outside and her balls of hair are flying away…you’ll make some birds happy,” the third user wrote.
It’s A Win-Win Situation For Everyone
Lando is the epitome of the perfect companion. And now, aside from his adorable Golden Retriever personality, he even helps his tiny friends build their homes – completely unaware of his ‘fur’s power.’
All he needs to do to help his fluffy fliers is sit, enjoy his comfy brushing session, and that’s about it. The minute he’s done, the birds are happy to use the remains of his coat. It’s safe to say that it’s a win-win situation for everyone!
In between his ‘bird life-changing’ brushings, Lando and his dad continue to enjoy their life together. They go on walkies, enjoy cozy cuddling sessions at home, and take exciting adventures.
It definitely doesn’t get any better than that! At least for Lando!
