Seeing abandoned puppies on the street is always a heartwrenching thing to see. At least some of the older puppies have a better chance of being adopted.
What can a newborn puppy do? Not much, really, and that’s why it always hurts more seeing puppies struggle to survive on their own.
The people who leave them on the street don’t really care what happens to them, so their only hope is if a kind person runs into them and calls for help.
What happened to these puppies is not much different. Their owner wanted to abandon them, but when a group of police officers from New Jersey came to help, they learned the truth.
8 Puppies Stuck In A Bucket

It was an ordinary day for Officer Ronny Taborda of the Clark Township Police Department when a man came into the police station with a box filled with eight puppies.
The man told them that he had just found them on the street and would like to surrender them, but the truth was actually different.
Later, he admitted that the puppies were his, and he couldn’t handle the responsibility of caring for them. He tried selling them, but that didn’t work, so his only option was to surrender them.
The puppies, who were only a week and a half old, had to survive on their own, and it gets pretty cold at night in New Jersey.

The officers, Taborda, Detective Bruce McDonald, and Detective Paul Sosnowski, all met the puppies and immediately fell in love with them.
They promised to do their best to help them recover and start a new life. They needed a medical examination, but it didn’t look like they had any major health issues.
The officers rushed them to the Associated Humane Society (AHS) in New Jersey, where the veterinarians immediately took them in for treatment.
Rescuers from the Humane Society worked tirelessly to help nurture these puppies and give them a new chance. Things were going smoothly for them.
The Officers Are Interested In Adopting

Shortly after, the three officers decided that they would each adopt at least one puppy out of the litter. Because they were still very small, they were first transferred to a foster home.
They needed to be watched at all times, so the rescuers from the Humane Society found a foster for all of them.
As they were growing up, the three officers started wondering when it would be a good time to adopt them, so they reached out to the rescuers and expressed their interest.
It took a while, but it was all finally taken care of. Taborda adopted Capri, McDonald took in Zeus, and Sosnowski got Ozzy.

All three puppies were now in a wonderful home, and they had grown up quite a bit since the last time they saw these dogs.
They would also start training them, which will take some time because the puppies are a bit stubborn, but it’s okay. It’s a work in progress.
As for the other five puppies who were also part of the litter, the owner of the Humane Society told the officers that all of them also found forever homes soon after that.
In the end, everything turned out great. Even though their first owner couldn’t care for them, it’s good to know that he did the right thing by surrendering them. These puppies are now living their best lives because of that decision.
