Massachusetts Firefighters Respond To A Car Fire Only To Find Something Surprising In A Storm Drain

Imagine you are working as a firefighter and you are responding to a car fire incident. You go there to help the people who own the car.

You do your job and extinguish the fire. However, you get a look around the area to see how much clean up you are going to have to do.

After wandering around for a bit, you approach a storm drain nearby only to see a pair of eyes staring back at you from the inside.

That’s essentially what happened to these firefighters from Massachusetts who were just doing their job when they found something furry near the car fire.

Well, What Is It?

When the Massachusetts firefighters working for the West Springfield Fire Department first received the call about a car that was on fire, they quickly responded.

In this incident, the car owners were able to get away unharmed, but the damage to their car was severe. The firefighters were able to extinguish the fire and secure the area.

The crews started the cleanup process shortly after. Oil was leaking from the burning car, so they needed to check the storm drains to make sure nothing was contaminated.

One of the firefighters found a nearby storm drain only to realize there was a dog stuck inside it. He was completely taken aback by this, so he immediately cared for the rest of the crew.

It was clear that she had no involvement in the fire, but she somehow managed to get stuck inside. She desperately needed help.

This entire unfortunate situation had one upside. If the firefighters hadn’t come when they did, would she have even made it?

A Heartwarming Reunion

The firefighters immediately got to work. One of the firefighters reached inside and pulled her to safety. The relief this sweet pup felt after being pulled out was heartwarming to see.

Shortly after, they called Thomas J. O’Connor Animal Control and Adoption Center, only to learn even more surprising news.

The animal control officers had been looking for this pup for a while, but they had no clue where she ended up. Her name was Ally, and she was missing for over a month.

After pondering for a while, nobody really had a clue as to how she ended up in a storm drain so far away. The weirdest part? It was close to a highway. What was she even doing there?

My theory is that she ended up near the road after being spooked by the cars, which only led her further down the path, where she fell into the storm drain.

Regardless, the animal control officers called her owners. Her mom was so happy and relieved to see her. Their reunion was something incredibly heartwarming.

Ally’s mom thanked everyone for rescuing her sweet girl. Even after 30 days, she still had enough strength to give her mom a big hug. Now, she gets to go back home where she will return to a normal life.
