New York Workers Shocked To Find Surprises In The Trunk Of A Wrecked Car They Were About To Demolish

Workers at the tow yard in Massapequa, New York, were going about their usual routine on a March day, unaware of the shock they were about to witness.

After the crew approached a wrecked car that was scheduled for demolition and opened the trunk, they discovered furry surprises huddled inside.

There were five newborn kittens, around two weeks old, who were trying to keep warm as they waited for their mom.

The kind workers scooped the kittens from the trunk and gently put them in a box.

As soon as John Debacker, the vice president of Long Island Cat Kitten Solution, heard about the feline babies found in the tow yard, he rushed to the spot.

When Debacker arrived at the junkyard, the tiny kittens were sleeping.

Knowing that the babies needed around-the-clock care, the rescuer collected them and drove to his friend, Deb Oliver.

She was a long-term carer and Debacker knew that she would take great care of them.

Oliver welcomed the babies into her home and started bottle-feeding them.

Debacker knew that the kittens’ mother was most likely searching for her babies. Together with Oliver, he headed to the junkyard to look for her.

They set traps in the area and installed cameras, hoping that she would soon appear.

The mother cat must have been heartbroken and distrustful toward humans because her kittens disappeared, so she kept hiding.

Fortunately, Debacker and Oliver found her among the scraps of the New York junkyard and captured her.

They picked her up and headed to Oliver’s home.

The babies were waiting for their beloved mama. Although their foster mom pampered them with care and gave them love, the kittens missed their mother.

When the cat family was finally reunited, they were over the moon. The mother fed her kittens and cuddled them. The babies were relieved to be in her arms again.

At the moment, the cat family is at a foster home. The kittens will be put up for adoption in three months and they will start looking for their forever humans.

When it comes to the mother cat, the rescue experts will keep an eye on her in order to determine if she is feral.

Whatever the result, they will ensure she has the best opportunity for a successful and joyful life, either by helping her find a home or by spaying her and releasing her back into the outdoor environment.

Thanks to both the workers who discovered the cat family, Debacker and Oliver, the mother and her babies will find their happiness.
