Sadly, many dogs go through so much in their lives and all those bad things leave scars on their souls. Some dogs suffer abuse or neglect at home while others’ hearts cry on the harsh street because of heartless abandonment.
However, although most of us believe that the situation is somewhat better in shelters, these dark and cold places are also not ideal for our canine friends.
The best examples are dogs who are so shut down after a certain period of time spent behind the bars of a kennel that they almost become unrecognizable.
One owner from New Jersey could see that with his own eyes after deciding to adopt a dog from a shelter and bringing him to the front door of his home.
Unknown Door To A New Life
After the new owner brought a Pit Bull mix named Bubbers from the shelter to his New Jersey home’s front door, the dog exhibited behavior that touched this man so much that he decided to record it and share the video with his TikTok followers.
In the video, which he posted under the nickname, @mochaandbubbers, on October 16, 2024, we can see Bubbers so shut down after leaving the shelter that he is even scared to step inside his new home.
Instead of entering the front door, he just stands there in the cold, and despite all his new owner’s efforts, refuses to cross the threshold. At the same time, the immense fear, which is the consequence of his past trauma, can be seen in his facial expression.

However, after an hour of persistence, the new owner finally manages to persuade his dog to enter his new home. After he felt the warmth of home and the love of its residents, he never looked back.
At the end of the video, we can see Bubbers enjoying his new life, playing with his canine sister, Mocha, and peacefully sleeping in his new comfy bed.

As expected, this video attracted a lot of attention as many people were heartbroken by the fact that this dog was so shut down that he was scared to come inside his new home.

The most beautiful part of this short heartwarming story is that only one door was enough for this dog to get out of the dark tunnel and start that new life.
