Oklahoma Police Officers Went To Help A ‘Trapped Dog’ Only To Be Surprised By What Happened Next

Being a police officer is not a simple job. During the day, you can be surprised by things you never even expected in life.

It’s a job that comes with many hardships and responsibilities, and it’s by no means an easy job. However, there are occasions when that is different.

There have been cases where Police Officers were called about an ‘animal emergency’ where they needed to intervene in some way or help an animal in need.

What happened in this story is much different. When Oklahoma police officers received a call about a ‘trapped dog,’ they didn’t quite know the full story, so they had a big surprise waiting for them.

Was He Really Trapped?

When the family realized that their dog had crawled under a shed searching for something, they realized that they couldn’t get her out.

They tried but to no avail. They called the police, and even though this was not their usual job, they decided to help out because they weren’t busy at that time.

After the police officers arrived, they heard the dog, named Bella, barking under the shed. They suspected that she was in distress and needed help.

They tried thinking of a plan as to how to get her without using any tools, but there were no options. So, with the blessing from the family, they used a crowbar and a hammer to peel up the floor.

When they did that, it became apparent what this whole thing was about. Bella wasn’t really alone at all. She was in the company of an opossum.

The officers had to separate them and the opossum was able to walk away to her freedom. Bella, on the other hand, wasn’t too happy after being ‘rescued’ by the officers.

In the end, everything went smoothly and nobody was injured. The police officers were glad to answer the call because they got a good laugh out of it and helped a family in need.

Reactions On Facebook

Shortly after this hilarious situation happened, the Oklahoma police officers decided to post the short story on Facebook where they received many reactions.

One person commented: “As the mom of 3 Dachshunds, I know this look well. I get it whenever I spoil their fun!

Yeah… well, judging by the picture, it doesn’t seem like Bella is too happy either. I mean, nobody likes it when you spoil their fun.

Another person said: “A few years ago one of mine went down a hole under the neighbors shed. The tunnel collapsed and she was barking for help. The elderly neighbor called her son and he came over and shoveled her out.

Well, she is lucky to have such great neighbors because a situation like this could have turned dangerous pretty quickly.

Lastly, somebody commented: “We have a family daschund who also traps critters under a shed. Glad you & the opossum are safe, Bella.

Okay… well, so it’s a hobby for some of them. Good to know. Even though Bella’s fun was short-lived, it provided a good laugh for the family and the police officers.
